Clermont-Ferrand, France

From nycsubway.org

Overview

The city of Clermont-Ferrand, France, joins Nancy and Caen in deploying a guided bus transitway. The vehicles look similar to light-rail tramcars deployed throughout France. Instead of the Bombardier TVR technology used in Nancy and Caen, Clermont-Ferrand chose Translohr technology from the Lohr Industrie company. These "trams" are articulated rubber-tired vehicles powered by overhead wire. A single guide rail is located in the middle of the guideway. The tram line in Clermont-Ferrand opened on October 14, 2006.
